Art in movement by Miquel Liso
Creation of exclusive and limited artworks captured at slow speed.
When speed becomes art
“Miquel Liso is a restless guy who is extremely critical of his work. After many days of work, he realized that his photos, despite being good, were comparable to those of other highly presti- gious professionals. He needed to step forward to distinguish himself.”
In the beginning, I was unconsciously experimenting with racing, playing games, looking for things I hadn’t seen before. There are people who is very good at doing very similar things and the only way to stand out is to do something truly different, distinguishing, something that makes you unique”.
Miquel bet high. Instead of looking for photos to get guaranteed commercial results, with high-quality images, he started slowing down the shutter speed with the idea of creating something unusual; the movement in front of him and the movement of his camera would become a brush on a blank canvas. The result is an exceptional work in a personal and unique style, in which it is impossible to get two identical photos.
A window to his creative world.
An opportunity to appreciate his art in its purest form.
THE DIFFERENCE, A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION
“More than a challenge it was a personal need, I had to create different images, I was a little tired of always seeing similar things.
Although I had already experimented with some ideas, I discovered the work of Ernst Haas, really the pioneer of this type of low-speed photography. Like him, I pursued a personal project. I wanted my photos to be better, to differentiate myself, to create.”

THE METHOD
“I apply a slow shutter speed and make camera movements using long exposures, so that the photos have a lot of strength, movements and life, and they get an extra value. It is a mixture of colors and shapes. Sometimes I play with reflections, textures, movement. It is magic. It is like the camera painted the pictures. A different way to photograph Formula 1.”
