Miquel Liso is a freelance photographer of great prestige. He is a restless guy and extremely critical with his work. Considered one of the best Formula 1 photographers and also recognised as a worldwide institution for his talent behind the camera in motor racing.

Over the last 10 years, he has developed his more artistic side and has revolved his career on his personal photographic projects. Liso is focused to a very personal vision, looking for the difference as a source of inspiration and seeks a graphically innovating project. The result is an exceptional work with a personal and unique style. The secret of his success is "the passion for the events he covers, the desire to innovate and make a difference", to the point of turning his photos into artworks.

The method

I apply a slow shutter speed and make camera movements. I use long exposures, so that the photos have a lot of strength, movement, life and they get an extra value. It is a play of mixed colors and shapes. Someti- mes I play with reflections, textures, movement. It is magic. It is like the camera painted the pictures. A different way to photograph Formula 1.
"Your first 10,000 photos are the worst”
— Henri Cartier Bresson.

The difference, his source of inspiration

“More than a challenge, it was a personal need, I had to create different images, I was a little tired of always seeing similar things. Although I had already experimented with some ideas, I discovered the work of Ernst Haas, the real forefather of this type of slow speed photography. Like him, I pursue a personal project. I wanted my photos to be better, to distinguish myself, to create”.

“Arte + Azione + Vita = Futurismo. La bellezza della velocità”

The images, captured at low speed, tearing the most essential elements of Formula 1 filled with an explosion of color, light and texture out of the ordinary.
